Power Boating

March 23, 2009

The club has one major Power Boating competition each year around the weekend of the Republic of Fiji Independence day in October.  This is a competition that is organised for charity and have seen yachts, lasers and rowers compete.  There is also the traditional fishing tournament that is held within the race weekend.

Powerboats also commit to an integral part of yachting/sailing as each registered vessel is asked to be a duty boat on any one weekend throughout the year of sailing competitions.

Most power owned vessels are also big time competitors in the IGFA Game Fishing world and you regularly see them out on the water for a days fishing, competitive or leisure or having a picnic on sand bank.

There has been a notable increase in power vessels registered to the club by members and we will be working on ways to enable mooring space for all.  The Trailer Park is currently being reviewed as to as to accommodate for the smaller vessels.

If you would like to moor your boat at the club, you would require to become a member then register your boat at the club.  A mooring space to your request will be allocated on the first available vacancy.  There may be a wait list so allocation is on a first come basis.

Remember Sanata Claus and his elves always arrive at the club by boat.
